 Detergent is good, bottle is a failure

We purchased this detergent because we have an 18 month-old daughter and we wanted a detergent that was free of dyes and perfumes. The detergent works well and, while this may only be anecdotal, our daughter’s skin seems to be less bothered by this detergent than it was by other detergents. However, as other reviewers have stated, the bottle design is a complete failure. There is no way to keep the detergent from leaking out from the top. It makes a complete mess. Until Seventh Generation redesigns their bottle to alleviate this issue, I will not be buying this product.

Good soap, bad dispenser

This soap works great and is a great value in this large size. However, I am very grateful to have read about the leaking problem before buying it. I saved my old large jug from another brand of soap just in case I needed it. Indeed, this bottle leaks like crazy. I promptly poured it into the other jug and am happy to have good soap and no leaks. I recommend this product, but they really do need to fix the design of the bottle.

 best “green” laundry detergent

Seventh Generation makes the best of the “green” laundry detergents, IMO. They get clothes clean, unlike some of the others.
Another user found fault with the dispenser part of the bottle. In my experience, those never work on any liquid detergent bottles. We use this big bottle to refill a smaller one, thereby avoiding that problem. My rating is based on the quality of the detergent rather than the packaging.
I bought this because it’s available at an excellent price with Subscribe and Save. I actually prefer the scented kind, but this was the only one available for that deal. I ordered it on a Sunday without overnight shipping and it arrived Monday, which was amazing.
