Royal Sealy China Cup Saucer
Like the Harrans’ former books, Book IV is separated into various collectible categories: cabinet cups and saucers, American cups and saucers, European dinnerware services, English tablewares, miniatures, and more. The almost 1,400 all-new photographs feature all kinds of pretty cups and saucers and their marks. There is a new section, the Collectors Corner, which offers perceptivenesses and experiences from fellow collectors. A arousing and attention holding new chapter entitled Chinese Tea and Tea Serving Vessels, written by collectors from Toronto, Canada, Henry Yuen and his son Andy, includes rare teacups from as early as the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) and proceeds to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 AD). The chapter includes interesting historical information, beauteous examples from Yuen’s personal collection, and a dynasty timeline. Useful selective information on packaging, internet buying, condition, and availability is also provided in the book. It s another must-have for collectors. 2009 values.
ReviewBook IV of Jim and Susan Harran’s Collectible Cups & Saucers Identification & Values features two more new chapters and pairs altered descriptions of cups and saucers with fine history and clear color photos throughout. These are top picks for any library catering to collectors.

Great teacup guide By L. Shook This is a great collection of the different types of teacups. Very helpful to an avid china collector! There are not very many books in this area of antiques, so I was thrilled to find this first edition. The second edition is also wonderful too. Highly recommend for the novice collector, to the avid ones!

Even better than Book 1! By Nancy Hurd I found Book 1 to be very helpful to me as a beginning serious collector and Book 2 has been much more so as my collection has grown. I loved the marks section with color photographs of marks and have used it in dating some of my cup and saucer sets. I also found the sketches of shapes and handles of cups to be useful in descriptions for the inventory of my collection. Pictures of old trade cards are a charming touch and reproduced old catalog pages, extra photographs and added information greatly add to the enjoyment of this book for a novice or experienced collector.

This book is not helpful at all By A This book is not helpful in identifying teacups at all. Of the thousands and thousands of styles and designs of teacps that exist, this book shows pictures of only about 200. Most of the pictures are dark or unclear and no maker’s marks are shown. This book is basically just one person’s collection and is no help to other collectors.
