Product Review: Regalo Flexi Gate

Product Rating: 4 out of 5

Pros: Solid Construction

Cons: Made to fit at precisely 76″ (Straight Across)

The Bottom Line: Well constructed for the price.

When buying goods around for this gate, I found more than a few companies providing exceedingly low prices but once you added it to the buying goods cart; they tried hitting you for tax and shipping. The reason why I’m even mentioning this is in the hopes that it will save you galore time when searching through the results. I have a lot more to say on this subject but I will stick to my review of the gate.

I will say this upfront, this gate was made for an opening precisely 76″ so if your opening is over or underneath the 76 inches, you might want to reconsider. I’m not saying that this gate wouldn’t work but you would have to adjust the flex joints which wouldn’t give a utterly straight line. I necessitated the gate for an opening size which was 75 1/2″ but I couldn’t get the gate to fit. I could have moved the gate out because it does flex at the joints but that kind of defeats the aim of enclosing the opening from end to end so I decisive to cut the one end division and remove one bar. If your gate doesn’t have to be in line (straight all over the opening) then you will have to be okay.

The gate comes with four mounting brackets which need to be attached to the wall with mounting screws (included) so it’s a good idea to pick up a stud finder if you do not already own one. I wouldn’t personally attach this gate using drywall screws because the gate is more or less heavy and might break away from the drywall. You might try using an adhesive but if you determine to take down the gate, at a later time, you might have a mess on your hands. I would just stick to using the wood screws because you may always patch the holes at a later time.

The gate is made from steel and the adaptable joints are plastic. I don’t see any flaking or bubbling in the paint so that’s good. The gate seems well constructed and it adjusts to fit some shapes. If you want to adjust the gate, loosen one of the joints then tighten when you find that desired shape. The gate has a built in door and it opens by lifting the latch upwards. There is a safety lock at the top of this latch so that is a plus if you have little ones and you would like keep them from opening the door.

All in all, I would say this gate is well worth the money. The directions are straight forward & simple. I would commend assembling the gate introductory (do a arid run) then figure out incisively how you would like to set up the gate. Once you figure that out, then get started attaching your wall mounts.

2Important data left out of product description
By Karen Kelly
This chair cannot be applied on a table with a skirt that is wider than a few inches. It does not work on our farm house kitchen table, which has a five inch skirt, or on our dining room table. It works best on picnic tables or tables that are just an inch of so of flat surface sitting on four legs that are close to the center. This is very essential selective information to disclose because a heap of people have tables with skirts and this chair is useless in those cases. If it does not work on my sister’s innovative table, which does not have a skirt, I will return it. However, I have to disagree with another reviewer with regards to the material. I was genuinely astonished at how sturdy it seems. Cannot comment on the quality of the straps, however, because I have been unable to attach it to a table.

5Escape Ugly-Giant-Highchair Land and get the Ragalo Hook-On!
By Michelle
We were reluctant to invest in a big, cumbersome (and, honestly, u-g-l-y) highchair. Have you seen what’s out there? If it’s not 4 feet wide, it’s just ugly as sin.

We’ve got an open dining area that’s percentage of the living room, so having numerous big plastic baby-themed-and-printed monstrosity wasn’t what we wanted.

So… I remembered when I was a kid my Grandma has a highchair she brought out and hooked on the table when us kids were around and a younger one necessitated it. I set out to find a similar solution and found the Regalo Hook-On High Chair.

It installed no problem. It’s not obtrusive. It takes up almost no space. Our boy has been happy in it since with regards to 6 months old – he’s now 10 months (and around 25lbs).

The seat washes beautifully, everything mechanically has been completely functional and easy to use.

This is the highchair we don’t notice. It allows our youngest to veritably join us at the table (instead of being confined to his own chair/table combo) and we (and I think he) love the togetherness. I like that it doesn’t take up any room at our table.

This is the perfective solution for those who:

(1) Don’t like the looks of other high chairs
(2) Have a littler dining area
(3) Only need the highchair out occasionally
(4) Like having baby AT the table, not near the table, for family meal times

I highly commend this highchair is any of the above apply.

5Very good!!
By Prof Shelby
I highly commend this chair. You may take it anyplace and it’s SO strong! I practically stood on it and it wouldn’t budge. I would get a second one to keep in the car but this thing is so easy to take off and put on that I may just grab it and go out.
