ASSEMBLING THE EXECUTIVE PROTECTION UNIT (EPU)

If you are assembling an EPU for a corporation, look for men and women with proven security backgrounds from the military, law enforcement, private sector, PSD or an EP (Executive Protection) academy. The persons you choose ought to have good working psychological result of perception learning and reasoning and a indepth understanding with regard to the application of EP within a corporate environment. If you are the detail leader (DL), which is a significant leadership position, it will be up to you to provide them with a professional EP education and an understanding of what their occupation responsibilities will entail.

Starting an EPU from the ground up may be a daunting task. However, if you obtain persons who are mature, calm, patient and in an emotional manner stable and who have mutual sense and mutual respect towards each other, you may build an EPU with superb capabilities. The best EPUs are built on the foundation of quality humans (professionally and personally) who are well motivated and consecrated to EP success.

Although your EPU may have qualified and experienced personnel from the military, law enforcement, private sector, PSD or an EP academy, you’ll still have to design and implement corporate EP policies – ones with iron discipline and precise standards. The program must be aimed to make sure the EPU remains sophisticated and professional. They ought to formulate ways to merge their capablenesses within a corporate cabinet meeting, an global executive summit, executive conference, a state dinner or a board of director’s meeting.

EPU CANDIDATE PERSONNEL:

Personnel entering your EPU ought to have a broader range of natural abilities and qualities and achievements necessitated in dealing comfortably with top businesspeople in a assortment of circumstances they will encounter. This includes courtesy, politeness and good manners, but always keeping a protective edge that normal persons (non-EPU members) don’t have.

It they don’t already have these skills, your EPU will have to learn fast. This is a decisive element for today’s EPS (Executive Protection Specialist). It makes sense. Nobody wants thugs in ill-fitting suits hovering around them at high-level business and social events. EPS in a corporate surroundings ought to exercise their trade very discreetly; therefore, those who without doubt or question do not meet the required standards ought to be dropped. Only hired the best and brightest for your corporate EPU. Keep safe out there.

5Still one of the best dramas on network television
By John Capute
For months it wasn’t clear if CBS would fetch back The Unit after it is third season. It’s an atypical show in this era of reality tv and the more popular and esoteric fare like Lost and Heroes. The Unit, after all, when you get right down to it, is a series with regards to war invented in a time of war. And the lack of success films regarding Iraq and Afghanistan have had (Redacted? Stop-Loss?) on the huge screen on a great deal of level points to the reluctance of the public to yet engage in depictions in regards to this war. Of course, a great deal of of the movies haven’t been that good to commence with…Nonetheless, here’s The Unit, whose text is at long last with regards to the war on terror. And yes, one may disagree with it is in general pro-war on terror perspective, or at the least question it. That said, when Mamet and company directly address this war, as they do in the back-to-back sequences “5 Brothers” and “Play 16,” the end result is two of the most heart-wrenching hours of television to have been broadcast last year. Mamet has never shied away from the moral and ethical issues war and soldiering present–check out his underappreciated Spartan with Val Kilmer; and while there is never any doubt that his team of warriors are heroes, he is not scared to show dramatically the price that comes with that heroism. This price is show to excessive damage and destruction effect in these two peculiar episodes. For this reason alone, this box-set is worth purchasing.

4Outstanding
By A. Brashears
After having been in combat (2 yrs) and later serving in a SWAT team for 7 yrs, I may confidently say that this series rings unfeigned with reference to technical and tactical concepts. My wife says that the wives portrayed aren’t too far off the mark concerning the “war at home” either.

33′rd Season – not up to the standard
By Dennis Pechek
The Unit for the duration of the initial season was an magnificent series. Each episode had two action packed operations going on at a time. Everything looked believable and there was sufficient personal dynamic included to make the team members human.

The second season was almost as good. The season end episode had me on the edge of my seat….but at the same time marveling how the series could carry on with the corner they had been written into.

The third season opening episode answers the questions of the second season finale and reunites the unit….although one would have to suspend bits of reality to swallow the outcome. The rest of season three seems to play more like a soap opera than a drama in regards to an elite military team. The writing and story lines were much weaker than the introductory two seasons.

I’m still a fan….but for me to proceed to watch the series it will have to return to it’s roots of the basi and second season.
