Earth’s Best

Sarde in Saor is a established dish from Venice Italy and reasonably easy to make. You will find this dish is on the menu in most decent Venetian restaurants.

Ingredients

1 cup of flour.

60 grams of sultanas.

2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.

Teaspoon of coriander seeds.

A glass of white wine – I always use Pinot Grigio.

4 tablespoons of white vinegar.

Salt to taste altho add very little as the Sardines are naturally salty – I just add a pinch.

600 grams of Sardines.

50 grams of pine nuts.

Vegetable oil for frying the Sardines.

2 White onions.

2 cloves.

A little pepper to taste.

Instructions

Clean the sardines and dust them in the flour.

Open the wine and have a glass to prepare you for the work ahead.

Soak the sultanas in the white wine.

Put sufficient oil in the frying pan to cover the sardines when they go in and heat the oil until very hot.

Add the sardines, fry speedily turning once a cook until golden brown and then remove draining the excess oil and adding a touch of salt.

Cut the onion up into very fine pieces and add to the olive oil until they commence to absorb the color of the oil then add vinegar, pepper, coriander and cloves.

In a distinguished pot (not the one you cooked the sardines in) cook the vinegar/olive oil/onion marinade on boiling for two or three minutes.

Place a layer of sardines on a dish add a little of the onions from the marinade and then a few sultanas and pine nuts. Keep adding layers until the ingredients are finished. The last layer will have to be onions and pour any remaining marinade over this.

Cover and place in the warmest share of the refrigerator for the length of one night to concede the marinade to be absorbed.

I hope you enjoy.

1BPA in lids!!!
By momma : )
I was disappointed to find out that the LIDS of Earth’s Best jarred foods are coated with an epoxy lining that holds BPA :(
I thought I was avoiding the whole BPA issue because these are in glass rather than plastic containers. If it’s in the lids, it’s going to get in the feed as the feed moves around in the jar for the duration of packaging, shipping, storage, etc. I was planning on being a committed Earth’s Best jarred feed user because it was organic and in glass, but then I found out when it comes to the BPA. As a note, if BPA doesn’t bother you, most of Earth’s Best feed is tasty.

4Best Baby Food by Far, but we have a good deal of allergies with this one.
By Danielle M. Smith
Earth’s Best Baby Food
My bestloved brand of baby feed by far. Both my son (who is now over 2 years old) and my daughter (now almost one) have used a wide assortment of foods from Earth’s Best. I am a big proponent of feeding children primarily organic and/or locally grown foods to publicize proper nutrition and growth. But I do not feel that all organic brands are equal. I’ve tried a lot of varieties (including store brands and others only available through internet purchase) and found that Earth’s Best is by far the best for your money.

4BPA likely a non-issue…
By D. Dunlap
My wife had made her own baby feed for our daughter for the primary eight months. Then, when our daughter was going to commence daycare, there was a sure comfortableness factor of being regarding to send in jars of baby feed for her and so we purchased Earth’s Best. It was organic, and figured to be the nearest purchased brand to what she had been making herself. The potpourri packs are a nice, easy way to stock dissimilar kinds for our baby to enjoy… and get enjoyment from she did for assorted of the flavors, though a good deal of she hated as well. All in all, we were pleased, and baby seemed pleased.

Needless to say, I was pretty astonished to read the review with regards to BPA in the lids. I expended some time attempting to verify this myself. A lot of dissimilar blogs stated it, and while I couldn’t find anything definitive, here’s what bothered me: Clearly Earth’s Best knows people are concerned regarding BPA in their lids… their own facebook internet site is littered with humans asking this same question. The admin answers these the same way… feed safety and baby health is of the most eminent priority, call us to discuss. That’s only somewhat paraphrased. Going to their website, they have zero articles on BPA and none in the FAQs division either… nothing. I’m not worried sufficient regarding the issue to stop using what we purchased, but I would have felt a whole lot better with regards to the company and their merchandise if they would recognise parents’ worries and tell parents… something. Hey, we check our feed in laboratory testing regularly and the the amount of BPA found in our feed is X, which is so low, there are no health concerns… just say something… anything. Do you genuinely want the onus on the client to contact you to keep using your product?

As I was taking the time to review their product, I decisive I would call them to give them a reasonable prospect to explain. Something, I likely wouldn’t have done if I wasn’t writing a review. Their office was closed… 9AM – 7PM est. Not the most commodious times for a working parent, but I will try to follow up and update this accordingly.

***UPDATED****
Just spoke to somebody from client service. She says that the liner that comes into contact with the feed is BPA free, but that there is another division of the lid behind this liner, that does integrate BPA, but that section of the lid does not come in contact with the food. I’m sure not everyone will be okay with that answer, but I’m ok with it. I still think it must be an answer that’s readily available to buyers without calling them, but I will say there was no hold time at least.
